Little Richard
(* 5. Dezember 1932 in Macon, Georgia als Richard Wayne Penniman) ist ein amerikanischer Rock-’n’-Roll-Sänger, -Pianist und -Songwriter. Während der erfolgreichsten Phase seiner Karriere bei Specialty Records Mitte der 1950er Jahre kombinierte der afroamerikanische Musiker Stilelemente aus Blues, Gospel sowie Rhythm and Blues unter der neuen Genrebezeichnung „Rock ’n’ Roll“ und überführte sie damit in den musikalischen Mainstream.
